Tomb of the Prophets

Looking for a quick adventure we walked over to the Tomb of the Prophets today. We opted to use candles as our light source and then look photos in the eerie candlelight.

I have just under a month left in Jerusalem. I can't believe it's almost over, I feel like I just got here yesterday!

Jordan Highlights

A few weeks ago we went to Jordan for a few days. Although it was dreadfully hot I still had a great time!

A beautiful sunset on our first day

The worst shower ever. Not only was the entire bathroom drenched when I was done, it lost water pressure right when I was shampooing my hair and turned off. Thankfully it came back on and I was able to rise the shampoo out of my hair.

Visiting the coolest place on Earth-Petra and riding a camel while there.

The city of Amman. It was almost like being back in North America

In Amman the hotel folded my towel into a swan. I have to tell you guys about how crazy our hotel room was. We had the penthouse and it was huge! It had 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms, living room, dinging room, and kitchen. All of this was wonderful except the air conditioning only worked in one room and the rest of the suit was uncomfortably hot. We called the front desk multiple times asking them to send someone to repair the air conditioner. We all felt relieved when someone knocked at our door and we rushed to answer it, but we were disappointed to find that it was only a hotel staff asking if we needed more towels. A few minutes later there was another knock at the door, this time was different another hotel staff bringing us more towels that we didn't need. At this point I decided that it was time for me to call the front desk. I called and kindly explained that our air conditioner was broken and the we had only been sent towels. I thought everything was going great until I relized that I had been hung up-on.

The Jordan River. It was boiling hot there, but it was an awesome experience to stand on the shore of the river where Christ was baptized.

Canada Day

July 1st was Canada Day, and since I am never in Canada on Canada Day I have become good at forcing non-Canadians to celebrate with me. My mom sent me an awesome package filled with Canada Day decorations and I enlisted the help of some tall friends to help me make the JC look awesome.

The student notice board. Note that sign that says "C's get degrees"
Outside of the Oasis
Karen and Alvin helped me set everything up
We decorated the Oasis
Some Canadian pride above the utensils
This was the only "Canadian pose' we could think of. Also, I have not gotten shorter Karen and Alvin are just really tall.
Amy showed off her juggling skills
So festive
Karen rocked the socks and sandals
 Canada tattoos
Canada sunburn

Hezekiah's Tunnel

This afternoon we didn't have any classes so we decided to walk though Hezekiah's Tunnel without flashlights. It was very very dark. Here are some pictures from our adventure:

Us at the start of the walk. The water was so cold!

Going around corners was really scary because it made you feel like you were walking the wrong direction.

Some people hid and grabbed at our feet. Talk about terrifying!

If you haven't walked though a cave in the dark I highly recommend it. The pictures don't do it justice.
